I read with interest your article on Jury Duty.
I was contacted last year by the Sheriff Clerk's office stating that I may be selected as a potential juror. I immediately contacted them by letter and explained although I was not a solicitor, I did work as a paralegal. I enclosed a business card, saying that I would be happy to act as a juror but wanted to check if there would be any conflict here. The Sheriff Clerk's response was to exempt me from jury service for the next five years. They did not give any views on the matter in their response.
