Meeting with Justice Minister
When Alison sent an e-mail to Mr Kenny MacAskill asking to meet with him to discuss the future of regulating paralegals we simply expected it to disappear into the ether.
We were very surprised and delighted to be invited to attend Holyrood and meet the Justice Minister himself. Alison and Karen met Kenny MacAskill along with Jill Clark of Legal Services on 15th February, 2010. Mr MacAskill listened with interest to the history and achievements of our association and commended the work undertaken in partnership with the Law Society of Scotland towards regulation and standards. Mr MacAskill went further to encourage our partnership with the Law Society and continue the good work. We were particularly pleased to meet with Jill Clark as she has offered herself as the first point of contact within the government, something we have not benefited from previously.
