Regulation Update

It is regrettable that having campaigned for regulation for paralegals for several years at the time when the Scottish Government and the Law Society of Scotland have made the decision to progress matters, the credit crunch has hit the profession badly making it untenable to launch the Project in 2008. We have therefore delayed the launch and at the moment forecast this taking place in Spring 2009. However, it does give us time to ensure that we have covered all angles and to take into account all the issues raised to date by both Paralegals and Employers.
However, we intend to hold Regulation Roadshows in November of this year and we would urge you to come along and bring with you your employers and any other Paralegals in your office even if they are not SPA Members. This will be your chance to ask questions and raise issues. Details will be circulated in due course and will be posted on our Events page of the website. It is also a chance to meet other Paralegals in your area and socialise.
